Valencian textile industry places itself at the service of society in the fight against COVID-19

Companies with a dry cleaning service that have machines to disinfect masks at more than 90 degrees temperature. Or they offer to wash sheets, deliver medical gowns medical caps. Any help, symbolic as it may be, is essential in the collective call to combat COVID-19 also from the textile sector, which does not give up on the altruistic work of everything in its power. Thus, the Spanish Intertextile Council (CIE) has carried out a series of actions carried out so far in response to the request made by the Government, following the declaration of the state of alert, being one sector which activities are defined among “critical industrial productions”. The associations that make up the CIE, ATEVAL and TEXFOR have asked companies to report on their productive capacities, availability of raw materials and resources. The request is specifically focused on non-woven fabrics for the manufacture of tissues / wipes and protective equipment, such as face masks; Textiles for protective equipment: medical uniforms or personal protective equipment in industries and laboratories.
